SUE WORKS WITH SOMALI FORUM TO SET UP WOMEN'S GROUP

SUE O'Donnell, Liberal Democrat Councillor for Lawrence Hill, is working with the Somali Forum to set up a sub-group for Somali women in Bristol.

Sue and the Forum, along with Bristol City Council, have done this at the request of a number of women, who asked for an appropriate platform for their involvement in the community.

The women have asked for the first meeting to look at the role of the police and representatives from Avon and Somerset Constabulary will attend to help the new group gain a better understanding of their role and the legal system.

At this first meeting the women will also discuss how this group will go forward, what they want to achieve and how it will feed back into the Forum.

Cllr Sue O'Donnell said: "I am really pleased that, by working in partnership with the Somali Forum, together we can create this opportunity for Somali women across Bristol."
