Sunday opening for park loos
SUNDAY opening is coming to the public loos in St George’s Park, thanks to local Lib Dem councillors.
John Kiely (Easton) and Tony Potter (St George West) have successfully pressed Bristol City Council to open the toilets in the park on Sundays from 10am to 4pm for a trial period.
Tony Potter said: “I could not understand why the only day nearly everybody is off work and can visit the park the toilets were shut.”
John Kiely, whose ward borders on St George West, was alerted to the problem by some of his constituents.
He is now urging people to ensure the pilot scheme for three months becomes permanent by making use of the new facility.
He said: “If the trial is a success, they will make the move permanent.
“So I am calling on local park users to ensure they spend a penny so as to keep this vital facility operating all year around.”
